LYvette Dejesus

Lyvette is completing Bachelor’s Degree in Music at Stony Brook University. She has studied with oboists Dr. Frances Colón (Symphonic Orchestra of Puerto Rico), Pedro Díaz (MET Opera, NY Philharmonic, Juilliard) and James Austin Smith (Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center, International Contemporary Ensemble, Manhattan School of Music, Purchase University).

She has studied oboe for over 10 years and also plays piano, clarinet and saxophone. Her repertoire includes solo pieces and chamber music pieces as well as music for orchestra, symphonic bands and wind ensembles.

She has played as the principal oboist in the Undergraduate Orchestra at Stony Brook University under Dr. Susan Deaver for 3 years and has been invited to play with the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra on various occasions. She has also played at the State Band of Puerto Rico under conductor Cuco Peña, as well as with the Symphonic Orchestra of Puerto Rico.

She has performed at master classes with renowned oboists such as Nermis Mieses, Nancy Ambrose King and Dominik Wollenweber.
